My most recent event has held at the lovely Park Plaza hotel in Cardiff. I hosted an afternoon of bubbles for a Hen Party, which was a fantastic day!

Here are some kind words from the organiser Alison Clarkson (@tiny_teapot):

“We had a great time on Saturday, your suggestion of tasting Bubblies rather than wine was spot on for a Hen Do and you pitched the afternoon just right. Perfect amount of info to make us feel that we were learning something but not too in depth. The Bubblies were delicious and it was great to see everyones different takes on them. You were knowledgeable and fitted in well with the group. Thanks for a great afternoon.” No, Thank you Alison!

What is a Pop-Up Tasting?

With the invasion of Supper Clubs and Pop-Up restaurants in Bristol, and throughout the rest of the country, Pop-Up Tastings are a great way of introducing consumers to new, and different Wines that they may not normally tend to purchase, in a relaxing, informal and more importantly affordable venue. For example, rather than the usual Wine Shops or Restaurants hosting wine tastings, Pop-Up’s really do just that. Whether it be in a pub, in a home, or in a Barber shop, a Pop-Up Tasting can take place anywhere.

Each Tasting will be very informal, no big talks from me, just an introduction to the wines, and then lots of mingling.

A Tasting will generally consist of a Sparkling Wine to begin with and then 6 still Wines to follow. Depending on the theme of the tasting these could be all White, all Red or a mix. All of this for around £15. This to cover all the Wines, tasting notes and the hire of venue. The tasting will normally last for 1.5 – 2 Hours. The Wines will all be used from Wine Merchants in Bristol and will be at great value for those who wish to purchase.

The first Pop-Up Tasting will take place in April. For more information please email: ben@benaustin.co.uk
