After working in the Wine industry for 7 years, and the Hospitality industry for many more, Ben would like to offer his extensive knowledge and experience of these two exciting areas, to help individuals and businesses to grow their wine offerings.
Ben started his career working in large hotel chains, and after several years he moved to Australia to work at the fantastic European Restaurant and the City Wine Shop in Melbourne. Spending a frantic and hugely enjoyable year immersed in Wine, and Ben found himself completely taken by the noble grape juice. And on returning to the UK, Ben adapted himself to more sales focused roles working for wine merchants. After a number of years working for Majestic Wine, in which Ben was responsible for looking after on-trade customers through Bristol and the South-West, Ben went back to the ‘floor’ as Head Sommelier at Hotel du Vin Bristol with awards including an AA notable wine list and Best Fine a Dining Wine List in the Bristol Good Food Awards.
Ben throughly enjoyed his time at Hotel du Vin, but it was time for a new challenge and Ben joined RED&WHITE wines who had recently moved to Bristol. They opened a pop-up wine shop and a fantastic wine school where they taught wine appreciation courses and WSET qualifications to individuals and on-trade members.
Ben moved to London to work for EuroCave wine storage. EuroCave are the worlds leading wine storage cabinets, dispensing machines and preservation systems. Working with top London interior architects Ben would advise and design cellars for restaurants, hotels and private clients.
